QUICK LESSONS:
Pray for those who have passed away; Respect elders; Reflect on mortality; Do good deeds while alive.
EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ informed his companions about the death of An-Najashi and then he went ahead to lead a prayer for him. He asked everyone to line up in rows behind him and said four exaltations or Takbirs. This hadith teaches us that it is important to remember those who have passed away by praying for them, as it is an act of mercy from Allah SWT. It also shows us how much respect we should have for our elders, even after they are gone, as we can still benefit from their wisdom and teachings. We should also take this opportunity to reflect on our own mortality and strive to do good deeds while we are alive so that others may remember us fondly when we pass away.
