Sahih Muslim 2107f (Book 37, Hadith 138) #12623
Imitating Allah's Creation is a Sin

SUMMARY: Imitating Allah in the act of creation is a grievous sin and will be punished on the Day of Resurrection.

A'isha reported that Allah's Messenger entered (my apartment) and I had hung (on the door of my apartment) a thin curtain having pictures on it. The colour of his face underwent a change. He then took hold of that curtain and tore it and then said: The most grievous torment for the people on the Day of Resurrection would be for those who try to imitate Allah in the act of creation.

QUICK LESSONS:
Obey God's commands without hesitation or doubt .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that it is forbidden to imitate Allah in His acts of creation. It was narrated by A'isha that when Prophet Muhammad saw a curtain with pictures on it hung up in her apartment, his face changed color and he tore it down. He then said that the most grievous punishment for people on the Day of Resurrection would be for those who try to imitate Allah in His acts of creation. This hadith serves as a reminder to us all that we should not attempt to imitate or copy God's creations as this will lead to severe punishment from Him. We should instead strive to worship Him alone and follow His commands without any hesitation or doubt.
