Showing Respect for the Deceased

SUMMARY: It is important to show respect and reverence for the deceased by standing still when one sees a funeral procession.

Narrated 'Amir bin Rabi'a: The Prophet said, "If any one of you see a funeral procession and he is not going along with it, then he should stand and remain standing till he gets behind it, or it leaves him behind, or the coffin is put down before it goes ahead of him ".

QUICK LESSONS:
Stand still when you see a funeral procession in order to show respect for the deceased.

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us to show respect and reverence for those who have passed away. When we see a funeral procession, it is important that we stand still until the coffin passes us or until it is put down before going ahead of us. This shows our respect and reverence for the deceased, as well as their family members who are accompanying them in their final journey. We should also remember that death is an inevitable part of life, and that we should be prepared to meet our own end with dignity and grace.
