QUICK LESSONS:
Respect the dead and show your condolences by attending funerals when possible without any difficulty or hardship on yourself .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the permissibility of accompanying funeral processions. It was narrated by Um 'Atiyya that they were forbidden to accompany funeral processions, but not strictly. This means that it is permissible to accompany a funeral procession, however it is not mandatory or obligatory. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that we should respect the dead and show our condolences for those who have passed away by attending their funerals and accompanying their procession if possible. However, this does not mean that one must attend every single funeral procession they come across as this may be difficult for some people due to various reasons such as distance or time constraints. Therefore, although it is permissible to attend a funeral procession, one should only do so if they are able and willing without any difficulty or hardship on themselves.
