Sahih Muslim 1972b (Book 35, Hadith 42) #12210
Eating Sacrificial Animals for Longer Periods of Time

SUMMARY: Allah's Messenger allowed the people to eat their sacrificial animals for a longer period of time than three days in Mina, and even until they reached Medina.

Jabir b. Abdullah reported: We did not eat the flesh of our sacrificial animals beyond three days in Mina. Then Allah's Messenger permitted us saying: Eat and make it a provision (for journey). I asked 'Ata' whether Jabir had also said: Till we came to Medina. He said: Yes.
