Sahih al-Bukhari 1268 (Book 23, Hadith 29) #1221
Washing and Shrouding the Dead

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) taught that when someone dies, they should be washed with water and Sidr, shrouded in two pieces of cloth without perfume or covering their head, as they will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection saying 'Labbaik'.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: A man fell from his Mount and died while he was with the Prophet at 'Arafat. The Prophet said, "Wash him with water and Sidr and shroud him in two pieces of cloth and neither perfume him nor cover his head, for he will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection saying, 'Labbaik'".

QUICK LESSONS:
Wash a dead body with water & sidr . Shroud it in two pieces of cloth without any perfume or covering its head . Respect those who have passed away by treating them properly according to Islamic teachings .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how to treat a dead body. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that when someone dies, they should be washed with water and Sidr, which is a type of tree leaves. Then the body should be shrouded in two pieces of cloth without any perfume or covering their head. This is because on the Day of Resurrection, everyone will rise from their graves saying ‘Labbaik’ which means ‘Here I am at your service’. Therefore it is important to respect those who have passed away by treating them properly according to Islamic teachings.
