Prohibiting Slaughter Before 'Id Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad prohibited people from slaughtering animals before the 'Id prayer and instructed them to do it again if they had already done so.

Anas b. Malik reported: Allah's Messenger addressed us on the day of 'Id al-Adha. He smelt the odour of flesh and he prohibited thern from slaughtering (the animals before the 'Id prayer), saying: He who slaughtered the animals (before the 'Id prayer) should do that again (as it is not valid as a sacrifice).

EXPLANATIONS:
On the day of Eid al-Adha, Prophet Muhammad addressed his followers and warned them against slaughtering animals before the 'Id prayer. He said that anyone who had already done so should do it again as it would not be considered a valid sacrifice. This hadith teaches us that we must follow the instructions of Prophet Muhammad in order to make our sacrifices acceptable in the eyes of Allah. We must also remember that sacrificing an animal is an act of worship and should be done with utmost respect for Allah's commands. Furthermore, this hadith reminds us to be mindful of our actions and not take any shortcuts when performing religious duties as they will not be accepted by Allah if they are not done according to His instructions.
