Prohibiting the Consumption of Fanged Beasts

SUMMARY: Eating of all fanged beasts of prey is prohibited.

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger as saying: The eating of all fanged beasts of prey is unlawful.
وَحَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَهْدِيٍّ - عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي حَكِيمٍ، عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ "‏ كُلُّ ذِي نَابٍ مِنَ السِّبَاعِ فَأَكْلُهُ حَرَامٌ

This hadith, narrated by Abu Huraira, states that it is forbidden to consume any type of fanged beast. This includes animals such as lions, tigers, and wolves. We should respect their lives and not take them for granted.
