Sahih Muslim 1890c (Book 33, Hadith 190) #12000
The Reward of Martyrdom

SUMMARY: God rewards those who fight in His way, even if they are killed by another believer.

It has been reported on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah said: God laughs at the two men one of whom kills the other; both of them will enter Paradise. They (the Companions) said: How, Messenger of Allah? He said: One is slain (in the way of Allah) and enters Paradise. Then God forgives the other and guides him to Islam; then he fights in the way of Allah and dies a martyr.

QUICK LESSONS:
Strive to do good deeds for Allah's sake

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the reward of martyrdom for those who fight in the way of Allah. It is reported on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah said that God laughs at two men, one kills the other and both will enter paradise. The Companions asked how this could be possible and he replied that one was slain in the way of Allah and enters paradise, then God forgives the other and guides him to Islam before he fights in His way and dies a martyr. This hadith teaches us that no matter what happens, if we strive to do good deeds for Allah's sake then He will reward us with paradise. Even if we are killed by another believer, our faith will still be rewarded with eternal bliss.
