Seek repentance from Allah when committing sins

This hadith talks about the consequences of striking someone with a sword. It is narrated that once, a man came to Prophet Muhammad and asked him what would happen if he were to strike someone with a sword. The Prophet replied that it was an extremely grave sin and one must seek forgiveness from Allah for such an act. This hadith teaches us that violence is not acceptable in Islam and we must always strive for peace instead of resorting to physical aggression or violence. We should also remember to ask for forgiveness from Allah whenever we make mistakes or commit sins as He alone can forgive us our wrongdoings.
