Rights of a Muslim on Other Muslims

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught us that Muslims have five rights over each other, which include responding to salaam, visiting the sick, following funeral processions, accepting invitations and replying to those who sneeze.

Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard Allah's Messenger saying, "The rights of a Muslim on the Muslims are five: to respond to the salaam, visiting the sick, to follow the funeral processions, to accept an invitation, and to reply to those who sneeze. (see Hadith 1239)

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that Muslims have five rights over each other. These include responding to salaam when someone greets you with “Assalamu Alaikum” or “Peace be upon you”; visiting the sick when someone is ill; following funeral processions when someone has passed away; accepting an invitation if someone invites you for a meal or gathering; and replying to those who sneeze by saying “Yarhamuk Allah” or “May Allah have mercy on you”. These are important values that we should all strive to uphold in our daily lives as believers in Islam.
