This hadith is about the warning given by the Prophet Muhammad against cruel rulers. He cautioned people to not become one of them, as they are the worst kind of guardians. A'idh b. 'Amr, a companion of the Prophet, was visiting Ubaidullah b. Ziyad when he reminded him about this warning. However, Ubaidullah responded arrogantly and said that A'idh was from the chaff among the companions of Muhammad. A'idh replied that such worthless chaff appeared after them and among other people. This hadith teaches us that we should be careful in choosing our leaders and rulers as they have a great responsibility towards their citizens in providing justice and fairness for all. We should also be humble when interacting with others regardless of their social status or position in society.
