The same tradition has been narrated on the authority of Sahl b. Sa'd through a different chain of transmitters with a slight difference in the wording.
This hadith also serves as an example for us on how we should treat our own traditions; we should strive to preserve them accurately and pass them down faithfully so they remain true to their original form and purpose for generations to come. We must also remember that even if there are slight variations between versions, it does not mean that one version is more correct than another; rather, both versions have value and should be respected equally for what they represent - our shared history and culture as Muslims around the world.
