Sahih Muslim 1781b (Book 32, Hadith 108) #11736
Prohibiting Idol Worship

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the prohibition of worshipping idols or images.

This tradition has been narrated by Ibn Abu Najah through a different chain of transmitters up to the word: Zahaqa, (This version) does not contain the second verse and substitutes Sanam for Nusub (both the words mean" idol" or" image" that is worshipped).

QUICK LESSONS:
Worshipping only Allah without associating any partners with Him .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the prohibition of worshipping idols or images, which is known as shirk in Islam. Shirk means to associate partners with Allah and it is considered one of the biggest sins in Islam. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that Allah alone should be worshipped and no other being should be associated with Him in any way. He also warned us against worshipping idols, statues, or any other image as this would lead to disbelief and punishment from Allah on the Day of Judgment. We must remember that only Allah has power over all things and He alone deserves our worship and devotion.
