QUICK LESSONS:
Strive for justice and fairness when dealing with others

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains that when a case was brought before the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), he would judge it based on an oath taken by the defendant. The defendant would swear an oath, known as yameen in Arabic, and if they were found to be truthful in their oath, then their judgement would be accepted. This is known as qadhaa' in Arabic and is a form of justice which was practiced during the time of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It teaches us that we should always strive for justice and fairness when dealing with others, even if it means taking an extra step such as requiring someone to take an oath.
