Abstain from intoxicants , Respect religious laws & regulations , Avoid sins & vices .

This hadith is about the punishment for drinking alcohol. According to this hadith, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to punish those who drank wine by striking them with shoes and palm branches forty times. This punishment was meant as a deterrent from drinking alcohol and other intoxicants which are forbidden in Islam. It is important to note that this punishment was only applicable during the time of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). In modern times, there are no physical punishments for drinking alcohol or any other intoxicant in Islam; rather it is considered a major sin that should be avoided at all costs. The lesson here is that one should stay away from anything that can lead them astray or cause harm to themselves or others.
