EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith conveys four teachings from the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ which are related to women travelling, fasting, prayer and journey. Firstly, a woman should not go on a two day journey except with her husband or a Dhi Mahram. Secondly, no fasting is permissible on two days; Id ul Fitr and Id ul Adha. Thirdly, no prayer after two prayers; after the Fajr prayer till sunrise and after Asar prayer till sunset. Lastly, do not prepare yourself for a journey except to three Mosques; Al Masjid Al Haram in Makkah Saudi Arabia, The Mosque of Aqsa in Jerusalem and The Mosque of Madinah in Saudi Arabia. These teachings emphasize on safety for women while travelling as well as respect for religious occasions such as Eid by abstaining from fasting during these days and also remind us that our focus should be towards Allah by visiting His sacred places like mosques instead of other places when we travel.
