Sahih Muslim 1631 (Book 25, Hadith 20) #11330
The Lasting Impact of Good Deeds

SUMMARY: The deeds of a person come to an end after death, except for three things: charity, knowledge that benefits others, and a pious son who prays for the deceased.

Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger as saying: When a man dies, his acts come to an end, but three, recurring charity, or knowledge (by which people) benefit, or a pious son, who prays for him (for the deceased).

QUICK LESSONS:
Do charitable acts and share your knowledge with others .
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the lasting impact of good deeds. It teaches us that even after death, our good deeds can still benefit us and those around us. One way is through charity; when we give money or goods to those in need, it will continue to benefit them even after we are gone. Another way is through knowledge; when we share our knowledge with others, it will continue to help them long after we have passed away. Lastly, if one has a pious son who prays for them regularly then this too can be beneficial in the afterlife. All these things show how important it is to do good deeds while alive so that they may continue benefiting us even after death.
