Sahih Muslim 1625i (Book 24, Hadith 34) #11308
Managing Property and Passing It On

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the importance of managing one's property and not squandering it, as it will be passed on to successors.

Jabir (b'.Abdullah) (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger having said: Keep your property to yourselves and do not squander it, for he who conferred a life grant upon another that property will belong to him upon whom it is conferred whether he lives or dies, and (would pass on) to his successors (as heritage).

QUICK LESSONS:
Manage your property responsibly
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith emphasizes the importance of managing one's property and not squandering it. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that if someone grants a life grant to another person, then that property will belong to them regardless of whether they live or die, and will be passed on to their successors as heritage. This hadith teaches us the importance of taking care of our possessions and being mindful with how we use them. We should also think about our future generations when making decisions regarding our wealth, so that we can pass on something meaningful for them in the future.
