This hadith is a warning from Allah's Messenger about the element of interest that can be present in credit transactions. The narrator is Ata' b. Abu Rabah who reported that Abu Sa'id al-Khudri met Ibn 'Abbas and asked him if he heard it from Allah's Messenger or found it in Allah's Book. Ibn Abbas replied that he did not know but Usama b. Zaid narrated to him that Allah's Messenger said "Beware, there can be an element of interest in credit."
