Leasing Out Crops on Rent

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) forbade Muzara'a and commanded leasing it out on rent for money instead.

Abdullah b. al-Sa'ib reported: We visited 'Abdullah b. Ma'qil and asked him about sharing of crops, whereupon he said: Thabit alleged that Allah's Messenger forbade Muzara'a and commanded leasing it out on rent (for money) and said: There is no harm in it.

QUICK LESSONS:
Make fair agreements with others so that everyone can benefit from them equally and fairly without any one party taking advantage of another's resources or labor without giving anything back in return .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's teachings regarding sharing of crops. He forbade Muzara’a, which is a type of farming where two or more people share the produce from a piece of land, and commanded that it should be leased out on rent for money instead. This means that if someone wants to use a piece of land to farm, they should pay the owner some money in exchange for using it rather than sharing the produce with them. By doing this, everyone involved will benefit from their agreement as both parties will receive something in return for their efforts or resources used in farming the land. This hadith teaches us that we should always strive to make fair agreements with others so that everyone can benefit from them equally and fairly without any one party taking advantage of another's resources or labor without giving anything back in return.
