QUICK LESSONS:
Take responsibility for your actions and make sure you are getting what you deserve out of them rather than letting someone else take advantage of you or your resources.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of not renting land. It was narrated by Ayyub and Ibn Ulayya who both spoke on the authority of Ibn Umar. According to this hadith, Ibn Umar initially rented out his land but then abandoned it afterwards. This suggests that he realized that it was better for him not to rent out his land in order to maintain control over it and benefit from its use himself. By doing so, he could ensure that he would be able to reap all the rewards from his own hard work rather than having someone else benefit from it instead. This teaches us an important lesson about taking responsibility for our own actions and making sure we are getting what we deserve out of them rather than letting someone else take advantage of us or our resources.
