SUMMARY: Allah's Apostle forbade the buying and selling of certain items by measure.

'Abdullah (b. Umar) reported that Allah's Apostle forbade Muzabana, i. e. buying of fresh dates (on) the trees for dry dates by measure, and the buying of grapes for raisins by measure and the selling of field of corn for corn by measure.

QUICK LESSONS:
Be honest and just when dealing with others while trading goods .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the prohibition of certain types of trade practices. Allah's Apostle forbade Muzabana, which is the buying of fresh dates on trees for dry dates by measure, and the buying of grapes for raisins by measure and the selling of field corn for corn by measure. This means that it is not allowed to buy or sell these items using a measurement system as it would be unfair to one party or another. The Prophet Muhammad was teaching us to be fair in our dealings with others, even when trading goods. He wanted us to make sure that everyone involved in a transaction gets what they deserve without any kind of cheating or manipulation taking place. We should always strive to be honest and just when dealing with others, especially when money is involved.
