EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Ibn 'Abbas states that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to pray 13 rak’ats in his night prayer. A rak’at is a unit of Islamic prayer and consists of standing up straight with hands raised to ears while reciting verses from the Quran and then bowing down with hands on knees while reciting more verses. This hadith teaches us that we should strive to follow in the footsteps of our beloved prophet and make sure we are praying regularly at night as it is an important part of our faith. We should also remember that even though it may seem difficult at times, if we put effort into it, Allah will reward us for our dedication.
