Separation between Spouses due to Cursing

SUMMARY: A person cursed his wife during the lifetime of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the Prophet separated them and traced the lineage of their son to his mother.

Nafi' reported on the authority of Ibn Umar (Allah be pleased with them) that a person invoked curse on the wife during the lifetime of Allah s Messenger , so he effected separation between them and traced the lineage of the son to his mother.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a situation in which a man cursed his wife during the lifetime of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. The Prophet then separated them and traced the lineage of their son to his mother. This hadith teaches us that cursing one's spouse is not acceptable in Islam, as it can lead to separation between spouses, which should be avoided at all costs. It also shows us that even if there is separation between spouses, it is important for children to know who their parents are so they can trace their lineage back through both sides of their family tree. Furthermore, this hadith emphasizes that we should always strive for peace and harmony within our families by avoiding any kind of verbal abuse or cursing towards our spouses or family members.
