Mindfulness of Allah and Preparation for the Hereafter

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the importance of being mindful of Allah and His blessings, and to be prepared for the Hereafter.

Narrated Um Salama: One night the Prophet got up and said, "Subhan Allah! How many afflictions Allah has revealed tonight and how many treasures have been sent down (disclosed). Go and wake the sleeping lady occupants of these dwellings up (for prayers), perhaps a well dressed in this world may be naked in the Hereafter".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith narrated by Um Salama tells us about how we should be mindful of Allah's blessings in our lives. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that one night he noticed how many afflictions and treasures were revealed by Allah. He then instructed people to wake up those who were sleeping so they could take advantage of these blessings from Allah. He also reminded them that although someone may appear well dressed in this world they may be naked in the hereafter if they do not prepare themselves spiritually for it. This hadith teaches us to always remember that everything we have is a blessing from God and to use it wisely while preparing ourselves spiritually for the hereafter as well. We should also strive to help others who are less fortunate than us so that everyone can benefit from these blessings from God.
