Seek advice from elders before making important decisions like marriage etc., judge people based on their character traits instead of money or status etc..

This hadith is about a woman named Fatima who was divorced by her husband when he was away from home and sent his agent with some barley as a form of compensation for her divorce. She went to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ for advice on what she should do next and he told her that she should not accept any maintenance from him and spend her waiting period in the house of Ibn Umm Maktum since he is blind so she can take off her garments without feeling embarrassed or uncomfortable around him. He then advised her to marry Usama bin Zaid after the waiting period ends which she did and Allah blessed them with happiness in their marriage which made others envy them for it. This hadith teaches us that we should always seek advice from our elders especially when it comes to matters such as marriage as they have more experience than us in this regard and will be able to guide us better than anyone else can. It also teaches us that even if someone has less money or status than others we should not judge them based on these factors alone but rather look at their character traits before making any decisions about them because these are what truly matter in life more than anything else does.
