Sahih Muslim 1439a (Book 16, Hadith 158) #10693
The Decree of Allah

SUMMARY: Allah's Messenger advised a man to practice 'azl (coitus interruptus) if he did not want his slave-girl to conceive, but whatever was decreed for her would come to her.

Jabir (Allah be pleased with him) reported that a man came to Allah's Messenger and said: I have a slave-girl who is our servant and she carries water for us and I have intercourse with her, but I do not want her to conceive. He said: Practise 'azl, if you so like, but what is decreed for her will come to her. The person stayed back (for some time) and then came and said: The girl has become pregnant, whereupon he said: I told you what was decreed for her would come to her.

QUICK LESSONS:
Accept fate with patience & faith in God , Make wise decisions & take responsibility for actions & their consequences .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the decree of Allah and how it cannot be changed. A man came to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and asked him what he should do if he did not want his slave girl to become pregnant. The Prophet ﷺ told him that he could practice coitus interruptus, but whatever was decreed for her would come to her. This means that no matter what we do, we cannot change what has been predetermined by Allah. We must accept His decree with patience and faith in Him as He knows best what is good for us even if we don't understand it at the time. We must also remember that our actions have consequences and so we should strive to make wise decisions in life so as not to bring harm upon ourselves or others.
