This hadith speaks about the food served in a wedding feast given by the wealthy. It was narrated by Sufyan who said that he asked Zuhri about this hadith and he laughed and said that it is not bad in itself but then Sufyan mentioned that his father was rich so he felt disturbed. Then Zuhri said that he heard from 'Abd al-Rahman al-Alraj who heard Abu Huraira say that the worst kind of food is served at a wedding feast. This hadith teaches us to be mindful when we are hosting or attending any event as it should be done with moderation and not extravagance. We should also remember to be grateful for what we have been blessed with and not take advantage of our wealth or status to show off or waste resources unnecessarily.
