Accepting Invitations to Feasts

SUMMARY: When invited to a feast, one should accept the invitation.

" Abdullah b. Umar (Allah be pleased with them) reported Allah's Messenger as saying: Come to the feast, when you are invited.
حَدَّثَنِي حُمَيْدُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ الْبَاهِلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ، أُمَيَّةَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ ائْتُوا الدَّعْوَةَ إِذَا دُعِيتُمْ

This hadith is about accepting invitations to feasts. It is narrated by Abdullah b. Umar that Allah's Messenger said that when someone is invited to a feast they should accept the invitation. This hadith teaches us the importance of being hospitable and welcoming towards others and accepting invitations with grace and humility. It also encourages us to be generous in our hospitality towards others as it is an act of kindness and mercy which will be rewarded by Allah Almighty in this world and the hereafter.
