Sahih Muslim 1414 (Book 16, Hadith 66) #10601
Brotherhood Among Believers

SUMMARY: Believers should not outbid each other or propose an engagement to someone if their brother has already proposed.

'Uqba b. 'Amir said on the pulpit that Allah's Messenger said: A believer is the brother of a believer, so it is not lawful for a believer to outbid his brother, and he should not propose an engagement when his brother has thus proposed until he gives it up.

QUICK LESSONS:
Respect your brothers and sisters in faith, abide by Allah's laws

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of brotherhood among believers and how it should be respected. It teaches us that believers should not outbid each other or propose an engagement to someone if their brother has already proposed. This means that we must respect our brothers and sisters in faith, and put them first before ourselves when it comes to matters such as engagements or bidding for something. We must also remember that Allah's laws are above all else, so we must always abide by them even when it comes to matters between brothers and sisters in faith.
