Temporary Marriage in Islam

SUMMARY: Allah's Messenger gave permission to contract temporary marriage for three nights and then forbade it.

Iyas b. Salama reported on the authority of his father that Allah's Messenger gave sanction for contracting temporary marriage for three nights in the year of Autas 1847 and then forbade it.

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow Islamic law regarding temporary marriages if given permission by the Prophet Muhammad .
EXPLANATIONS:
In Islam, there is a concept of temporary marriage known as Mut’ah marriage. This type of marriage was allowed by the Prophet Muhammad in the year of Autas 1847 but was later forbidden. This type of marriage is different from regular marriages because it only lasts for a short period of time and does not require any legal documents or witnesses like regular marriages do. The purpose behind this type of marriage is to provide companionship and intimacy without having to commit to a long-term relationship or having children together. It also allows people who are unable to marry due to financial constraints or other reasons an opportunity for companionship without breaking any laws set by Allah. Although this type of marriage has been forbidden now, it still serves as an example that Islam provides its followers with solutions that are both practical and beneficial while still adhering to its teachings and values.
