Traveling with a Dhi-Mahram

SUMMARY: A woman should not travel for more than three days without a Dhi-Mahram or her own husband.

Narrated Ibn 'Umar: The Prophet said, "A woman should not travel for more than three days except with a Dhi-Mahram (ie a male with whom she cannot marry at all, eg her brother, father, grandfather, etc) or her own husband)"

QUICK LESSONS:
Women should not travel alone for more than three days without her husband or dhi mahram.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of women traveling with someone they cannot marry, known as a Dhi-Mahram, or their own husband. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that it is not permissible for a woman to travel alone for more than three days. This is because it can be dangerous and difficult for them to travel alone and they need someone to protect them and help them along the way. It also teaches us that women should be respected and protected by their families, husbands, or other male relatives when they are traveling. It also shows us the importance of having strong family ties in Islam as well as taking care of our female relatives when they are in need of assistance.
