Prophet Muhammad's Entry into Mecca

SUMMARY: The hadith is about Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) entering Mecca in the Year of Victory wearing a black turban, but not wearing the Ihram.

Jabir b. 'Abdullah al-Ansari (Allah be pleased with them) reported that Allah's Messenger entered Mecca and Qutaiba (another narrator) stated that he entered Mecca in the Year of Victory, wearing a black turban, but not wearing the Ihram.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى التَّمِيمِيُّ، وَقُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الثَّقَفِيُّ، قَالَ يَحْيَى أَخْبَرَنَا وَقَالَ، قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ الدُّهْنِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الأَنْصَارِيِّ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ دَخَلَ مَكَّةَ - وَقَالَ قُتَيْبَةُ دَخَلَ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ - وَعَلَيْهِ عِمَامَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ بِغَيْرِ إِحْرَامٍ ‏.‏ وَفِي رِوَايَةِ قُتَيْبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ

This hadith narrates an event from the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It tells us that when he entered Mecca in the Year of Victory, he was wearing a black turban but not wearing Ihram. It also teaches us to be humble and modest even in times of success and victory. We should remember to stay true to our faith no matter what situation we are in or how successful we become.
