Riding Sacrificial Camels

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) encouraged a person to ride on a sacrificial camel.

Anas reported that Allah's Messenger happened to pass by a person who was driving a sacrificial camel, whereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: Ride on It. He said: It is a sacrificial camel. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said twice or thrice: Ride on it.
وَحَدَّثَنِي عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ، وَسُرَيْجُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدٌ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ وَأَظُنُّنِي قَدْ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ، أَنَسٍ ح. وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، - وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ - أَخْبَرَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ بِرَجُلٍ يَسُوقُ بَدَنَةً فَقَالَ ‏"‏ ارْكَبْهَا ‏"‏ ‏.‏ فَقَالَ إِنَّهَا بَدَنَةٌ ‏.‏ قَالَ ‏"‏ ارْكَبْهَا ‏"‏ ‏.‏ مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلاَثًا

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's encouragement of riding sacrificial camels. It is narrated by Anas ibn Malik that the Prophet happened to pass by a person who was driving a sacrificial camel and he said "Ride on it" twice or thrice. This hadith teaches us that we should not hesitate in using our resources for good causes and should not be wasteful with them. We can also learn from this hadith that we should always be generous and kind towards others as the Prophet was encouraging this man to ride on his own sacrificial animal. Furthermore, it also shows us how important it is to use our resources in ways which are beneficial for ourselves as well as others around us.
