Sahih Muslim 1298b (Book 15, Hadith 343) #10278
The Experience of Performing Hajj with the Prophet Muhammad

SUMMARY: This hadith is about Umm al-Husain's experience of performing Hajj with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and witnessing Usama and Bilal helping him.

Umm al-Husain (Allah be pleased with her) reported: I performed Hajj along with Allah's Messenger on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage and saw Usama and Bilal (too), one of whom had caught hold of the lose string of the she-camel of Allah's Apostle while the other one was raising his cloth (over his head) protecting him from the heat, till he flung pebbles at Jamrat al-'Aqaba.

Helping others in times of need .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith recounts Umm al-Husain's experience of performing Hajj, or pilgrimage to Mecca, alongside the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). During this journey, she witnessed Usama and Bilal helping the Prophet in various ways. Usama was holding onto a string attached to one of the camels while Bilal was shielding him from the sun by raising his cloth over his head. Eventually, they even helped throw pebbles at Jamrat al-'Aqaba as part of a ritual during Hajj. This hadith highlights how important it is for Muslims to help each other in times of need and how we should strive to emulate those who were close to our beloved prophet. It also teaches us that no matter what our age or station in life may be, we can still contribute something meaningful towards a greater cause.
