Sahih al-Bukhari 1059 (Book 16, Hadith 18) #1021
Signs of Allah to Remember Him

SUMMARY: Allah sends signs to make His worshippers remember Him and ask for His forgiveness.

Narrated Abu Musa: The sun eclipsed and the Prophet got up, being afraid that it might be the Hour (ie Day of Judgment). He went to the Mosque and offered the prayer with the longest Qiyam, bowing and prostration that I had ever seen him doing. Then he said, "These signs which Allah sends do not occur because of the life or death of somebody, but Allah makes His worshipers afraid by them. So when you see anything thereof, proceed to remember Allah, invoke Him and ask for His forgiveness".

QUICK LESSONS:
Remembering Allah, Invoking Him & Asking for his forgiveness whenever you see any sign from him.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the signs that Allah sends to remind us of Him and ask for His forgiveness. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was once afraid when he saw a solar eclipse, as it could be a sign of the Day of Judgment. He went to the mosque and offered a prayer with longer bowing and prostration than usual. He then said that these signs are not related to anyone's life or death but are sent by Allah so that we remember Him and seek His forgiveness. We should take this opportunity to pray, invoke God, and ask for His mercy whenever we see any such sign from Allah.
