The Significance of Tamattu' in Hajj and 'Umra

SUMMARY: This hadith explains the importance of performing Tamattu' of Hajj and 'Umra.

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of 'A'isha. The wife of Allah's Messenger , concerning his Tamattu' of Hajj and 'Umra and performing of Tamattu' by people in his company.
وَحَدَّثَنِيهِ عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ جَدِّي، حَدَّثَنِي عُقَيْلٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ، زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ أَخْبَرَتْهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ فِي تَمَتُّعِهِ بِالْحَجِّ إِلَى الْعُمْرَةِ وَتَمَتُّعِ النَّاسِ مَعَهُ بِمِثْلِ الَّذِي أَخْبَرَنِي سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ - رضى الله عنه - عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the significance of performing Tamattu', which is a type of pilgrimage to Makkah. It was narrated by Aisha, the wife of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. According to this hadith, it is important for people to perform this type of pilgrimage as it has been approved by Allah's Messenger ﷺ himself. During this pilgrimage, one must perform certain rituals such as circumambulating around Kaaba seven times and running between Safa and Marwa hills seven times. It also involves sacrificing an animal at Mina on the 10th day after arriving in Makkah. All these rituals are done to show one's devotion towards Allah Almighty and seek His blessings for forgiveness from sins committed knowingly or unknowingly in life.
