Sahih al-Bukhari 1048 (Book 16, Hadith 9) #1012
Signs of Allah and Their Purpose

SUMMARY: The sun and the moon are two signs of Allah that do not eclipse due to the death of someone, but rather Allah uses them to frighten His devotees.

Narrated Abu Bakra: Allah's Messenger said: "The sun and the moon are two signs amongst the signs of Allah and they do not eclipse because of the death of someone but Allah frightens His devotees with them".
