Authority of Mu'awiya

SUMMARY: This hadith talks about Mu'awiya and his authority.

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Sulaiman Taimi with the same chain of transmitters and in his narration (he) refers to Mu'awiya.
وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ، بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ وَقَالَ فِي رِوَايَتِهِ يَعْنِي مُعَاوِيَةَ

This hadith is about the authority of Mu’awiya, a companion of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He was known for his wisdom and justice, and was appointed by the Prophet ﷺ to be the governor of Syria. The narrator in this hadith is Sulaiman Taimi, who refers to Mu’awiya in his narration. This hadith teaches us that we should respect those who are given authority over us, as they have been appointed by Allah SWT or His Messenger ﷺ. We should also strive to be wise and just like Mu’awiya so that we can be trusted with positions of leadership.
