Journey to Tan'im for 'Umra

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) ordered Abd al-Rahman b. Abu Bakr to take A'isha on a journey to Tan'im for her to enter into the state of Ihram for 'Umra.

Abd al-Rahman b. Abu Bakr reported that the Messenger of Allah ordered him to mount A'isha behind him and enable her to (enter into the state of Ihram for 'Umra) at Tan'im.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَابْنُ، نُمَيْرٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو، أَخْبَرَهُ عَمْرُو بْنُ أَوْسٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ أَمَرَهُ أَنْ يُرْدِفَ عَائِشَةَ فَيُعْمِرَهَا مِنَ التَّنْعِيمِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's order to his companion, Abd al-Rahman b. Abu Bakr, to take A'isha on a journey from Makkah to Tan’im so that she could enter into the state of Ihram for ‘Umrah. This hadith teaches us that it is important for Muslims who are performing Hajj or ‘Umrah rituals in Makkah and its surroundings areas such as Mina and Arafat must first enter into the state of Ihram before they begin their pilgrimage rituals. It also teaches us that it is important for Muslims who are performing Hajj or ‘Umrah rituals in Makkah and its surroundings areas such as Mina and Arafat must first enter into the state of Ihram before they begin their pilgrimage rituals. Furthermore, this hadith also shows us how much respect and care Prophet Muhammad showed towards his wife A’isha by allowing her to accompany him on this journey even though she was not obligated by Islamic law at that time.
