Hello! My name is Rochelle Velderrain and I am the California Area Coordinator for Nacel Open Door, a non-profit high-school foreign exchange program that seeks Host Families across the United States ( http://www.nacelopendoor.org/ - www.nacelopendoor.org ). I am trying to find families to host students from Indonesia, Syria & Morocco. The students will be here in September '05 and will attend a US public high school. They are on a scholarship program called YES (Youth Exchange and Study). The students are female & male, all indicating in their applications that they are practicing muslims.  I am interested in families who are interested in cultural diversity and want to make a difference in the world. Families who would enjoy taking in a high-schooler for a 10-month experience (sometimes 5 months). They come with own spending money and medical insurance. I dont live in your area, so wont be able to give any concrete reply. I hope those who are from your location would come forward and respond readily.

As an alternative, i would suggest you also try to get in touch with muslim families thru the local mosques. I think that is a better way of short listing people.
