Every year by estimates of the United States State Department, between 14,000 -17,000 children and women are brought into the United States for what Bush (whose own family has been involved in this trade) has called "modern-day slavery." Some estimates run as high as 50,000-100,000 per year. The victims come from various foreign countries � from Russia to Vietnam. According to CBC documentary shown tonight � it�s a US$3 billion annual business (still moderate as compared to US$1 billion in Israel which has a population of only five million) � just second to drug-trafficking.
