Quick recap for those who did know.... A few months ago, my dear friend from work was being beaten by her boyfriend. She finally got the courage to leave, the police pressed charges and he was sentenced to ONE YEAR in jail. Here's the news.... Today he was released after only 30 DAYS!!!! THIS IS AN OUTRAGE! His punishment, HE HAS TO MOVE BACK TO FLORIDA and do DOMESTIC VIOLENCE COUNSELLING. Another guy we know was caught doing drugs and got 90 days, not hurting anyone but himself sadly. And this guy who had FOUR, count them FOUR restraining orders by women is getting out after 30 DAYS!?!?!?!?!  |

Why don't you, and the women in your area, do a petition to the judge who set him free? It may not make a difference with this guy, but it will probably have an impact on the next woman-beating lowlife who stands up before the court. ------------- It is only with the heart that one can see clearly, what is essential is invisible to the eye. Ugh, her 4 brothers need to just find the guy and kick his behind three ways to Sunday. But, hopefully he complies with the order and moves to Florida. |

Assalamu Alaikum: I'm sure the people in Florida don't want him either. I would let either a local news station know or a newspaper... let them right the story, so people will get up in arms and protest. There should be a database of convicted domestic abusers just as there is for child abusers. Sigh. |
