Should UNICEF be state funded? The United Nations children's charity (UNICEF) is funded via private donations from good citizens. If UNICEF where state funded would it increase its reach consequently helping more needy children?

I think no. Charity is a means of spiritual development. If one is commanded by government to give charity it removes both God and free will from the act.

The argument was state funding from government overseas development funds. The argument is if governments donated money to UNICEF then UNICEF could have more punch. Today 22000 children died needlessly. The argument- if UNICEF had all the resources it needs then perhaps some of the 22000 children that died today might well be alive PEACE

Let me repeat. UNICEF is not state funded. UNICEF is funded by private citizen donors. If Bill Gates gave all his money to UNICEF then how many lives would it save? I launched a petition on the UK government website demanding UNICEF was state funded. NOBODY SIGNED THE PETITION. THE CITIZENS WHERE MORE INTERESTED IN SAVING THE PARACHUTE REGIMENT FROM PROSECUTION FOR BLOODY SUNDAY. And you wonder why I'm mad? Twenty thousand children died today for no reason.
