Most of the definitions of Islam introduced by the classical scholarship revolve around the linguistic definition of the term as it means the absolute surrender and submission to Allah alone and the complete obedience to all His precepts and ordinances, while not associating anything in worship with Him

 What is the difference between "meaning" and "definition"?
