Lately many Muslim scholars have talked about the end of Muslims and the end of time. They issued their opinions based on the Hadiths according to their understanding and estimates. They are not wrong because they only discuss the signs that now is the end of the age, which they also do not know for certain when Muslims will end and Doomsday will occur. Therefore, Muslims do not need 100% to believe it.

We, Muslims must remember the source of Islamic law, the Qur'an and the Hadith of saheeh. Even the Prophet Muhammad Shallallaahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam also did not know when all this happened.

In a hadith from Umar about the arrival of Gabriel, and stated that Gabriel asked the Prophet Muhammad Shallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam about when the doomsday will occur. Rasulullah Shallallaahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam replied: "Those who are asked do not know more than those who ask ... " (Narrated by: Bukhari 4777 and Muslim 106).

Such Hadith shows that the Prophet Muhammad Shallallaahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam did not know exactly when the apocalypse will occur. He can only provide information about the signs of the end of the world will occur to his ummah through the hadiths.

Al Quran has also explained:

“They ask you about the Hour (Day of Resurrection): ‘When will be its appointed time?’, Say: ‘The knowledge thereof is with my Lord (Alone). None can reveal its time but He. Heavy is its burden through the heavens and the earth. It shall not come upon you except all of a sudden.’ They ask you as if you have a good knowledge of it. Say: ‘The knowledge thereof is with Allah (Alone), but most of mankind know not.”

However, humans are not forbidden to talk about and even predict when the apocalypse will occur, because humans have been given knowledge and wits, with a note, the predictions should not be made as strong arguments that their calculations are exactly correct. That is very wrong.

In accordance with my investigation that many of these predictions have a positive impact (especially in my country), including: Many mosques are filled again with jama'ah, many Muslims leave immoral acts, etc. but there is also a slight negative impact that there are still some Muslims who consider that predictions about the end of the world are exactly correct.

In my opinion, besides these predictions made as precautionary signs, let's also compete in preparing ourselves by further increasing our worship to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala by carrying out all His commandments and staying away from all His prohibitions, because we don't know for sure when the apocalypse will occur, even our own death, in the hope that if the apocalypse happens, we are in a state of faith and taqwa (piety) to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. Wallahu a’lam bi shawab.

Thanks for a very nice post indicating an important point about Prophet's (pbuh) response about the Hour when asked this question. There are some Ayas is Quran which describes signs of the Hour, e.g coming of the smoke, a great convulsion, splitting of the Moon etc.
