Assalamalecum WA rehmatullahi WA barakhatahu.friends making fun of others behind their back is the way of life of many people in this world.making fun of colleagues and boss at offices,teachers and other students at schools,colleges etc,even most people make fun of their loved ones at home,but those have read Qur'an correctly will think about this.Allah mentioned in Surah Al Hujurat ch 49 v 11-12,that o people don't make fun of others or laugh or give names to them,may b they are better than you,those who R involved in this they are doing a sin equal to consuming own brother's dead flesh,as we know consuming dead flesh is haraam but even a cannibal will not consume dead flesh of his own brother,therefore we should avoid doing backbiting/gossiping and pray to Allah for forgiveness for doing this before knowing this fact.Allahfiz

WA barakhatahu bro, yes brother you are right, the sin of backbiting has so dangerously become common in our society that we (or atleast most of us) don't consider it a sin at all. We gossip about other and make fun of them as if it's our right to do such things and we rarely feel guilt about it as we hardly consider it, a sin. It is sickening, the way we are committing this sin in our daily life.
May Allah protect us from such this and other sins and may Allah guide us to the path of success and prosperity. Ameen
