Bismillah,
Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah wa barkatuhu dear Sheeza,

If someone approaches with a proposal, who on the offset does not have any flaw, rather you tend to like his character, then the feelings you are experiencing are normal.

A man should have this quality of decision making. Since the Quran says that men are protectors of women, they should have a strong character to be able to lead, take initiatives, decide for the family etc. Its very important for the marriage institution to be successful. It does not appear from his behavior that he can make tough/serious decisions and then stick to them.

Your parents had done the right thing to close the door on him when he approached a third time.
Your feelings will go away in a while. Get busy with your life, your studies, job, friends etc, and try not force yourself to forget the incident - it will just fade away with passage of time.

wish you all the best.

fi aman Allah!

Assalamu laikum wr. wb.,

You are still 17, keep busy with your study etc. See when you are 20 or 21, he might already disappear from your heart.
