Many atheists, polytheists, unbelievers, agnostics and even many Muslims do not know about the greatest miracle that Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala showed to his slaves. The moon was split into two and the two separated pieces of the moon went in opposite directions. This is unimaginable to us because we know that the Earth depends on the moon for gravity. In reality everything and everyone on Earth at that time should have floated off into space and the Earth convulsed and shaken out of it's orbit, really all life on Earth should have ended that eventful day. Nothing is impossible for Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala and everything in heaven and earth are at His command and follows His laws.

Is it asking for too much to have a little bit of faith as small as a mustard seed? Believe and your faith will increase, He will guide you and He will give you knowledge and wisdom.

This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Abdullah b. Mas'ud (who said):

We were along with Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) at Mina, that moon was split up into two. One of its parts was behind the mountain and the other one was on this side of the mountain. Allah's Messenger (may peace be upbn him) said to us: Bear witness to this.

Hi Abu

Yes, my wife told me about this story some years ago. It does sound miraculous, just like the 'Miracle of the Sun' as reported in Portugal in 1917. Despite the sincerity of the eye-witnesses, accepting either story as plausible would require a lot of faith for an agnostic like me, certainly somewhat more than could fit in the typical mustard seed.

God has the right to remain silent. For His advocates, however, each resigned shrug is a missed opportunity to win new converts.

This hadith usually associated with Chapter 54, which the Ulama agreed it was revealed in 5th year of Muhammad Prophethood. If this is the case, than in one history book that I came acrross Abdullah b. Mas'ud was around 5 to 6 year old. Beside the word split is not the word used in that chapter. And the word asunder according to commentator is in the past tense. From this alone I can't accept this hadith.

LOL  Seriously, Abu?  Is this the level of scientific knowledge in the UAE?

Seriously laugh all you want. You being an atheist is like you are trying to divert away the believers here from the Straight Path by your sowing of doubts. Know then that when you are in hell you will receive a double punishment. If you don't believe me then go and read the Holy Qur'an.
